Angel Reach is a dynamic, growing, non-profit Christian organization serving youth ages 16-24 who have aged out of the foster care system and or who are at risk of homelessness and Kinship families doing their best to keep children out of the child protective system.

Angel Reach provides services which include housing, counseling, a food pantry, a resale store, employment and educational advising, transportation, and mentorships. The working culture at Angel Reach is family first and one of empowerment for both clients and staff.

Chef/Kitchen Manager

Minimum Requirements:             

  • Food handler’s license and at least 3 years of experience in food preparation
  • Team player and ability to stay flexible
  • Strong planning and organization skills to maintain inventory and keep regular menu
  • Ability to connect, create a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere
  • Receive training in trauma informed care and TBRI

Position Summary: To create a welcoming and hospitable environment for clients and staff in the lunchroom. Provide breakfast and lunch for clients and staff Monday through Thursday without the daily use of a stove or oven (via crock pot, Foreman grill, etc.) and to keep the kitchen and bathrooms (used by both clients and staff) clean and organized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Be responsible for 2 meals per day (breakfast/lunch) & occasional meals for special events for groups of 10 to 20+ people with preparation of cold foods,foods cooked with electrical appliances or using volunteer donated foods and serve the meals in a timely fashion:  Breakfast9 – 9:45 and Lunch 12 – 12:45
  • Plan menu, purchase foods and maintain inventory weekly and collaborate with pantry lead
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to bring meals for Life Skills
  • Be able to show compassion and patience in interacting with clients.  Must be TBRI trained (Trauma Based Relational Intervention) within first 3 months
  • Maintain required certifications through the food bank and follow all required guidelines for food handling and distribution
  • Complete all daily clean up protocols and ensure kitchen area is kept up to standard
  • Use good organization skills in keeping up with menus, inventory, budgets, safety,etc.
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed (meal hours could change)
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time, life moderately heavy items and work outside for special occasions or events
  • Be flexible and able to complete other duties as assigned
  •  Attend monthly all staff meeting

Youth Coach (Social Worker)

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in social service-related field.  LMSW, LCSW or MSW preferred, with experience in Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing. Three to five years of Social Work or Counseling-related training and experience, particularly trauma-based.

Position Summary:

The role of the Youth Coach is to provide holistic, strengths-based, and comprehensive services to Angel Reach clients (ages 16-24) while supporting their efforts to move from crisis to independence.  The Youth Coach will harness community resources to meet the needs of homeless youth as they transition from homelessness to independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Assessment and Planning:  Provide holistic and comprehensive services, including crisis intervention, initial assessment, goal setting, long-term independent development plan, and ongoing coaching to achieve development plan.
  • Youth engagement:  Facilitate and collaborate with youth to develop their comprehensive Individual Development Plan (IDP).  Promote empowerment of youth, i.e., self-management.  Encourage and recognize steps towards achieving the clients’ goals through individual and group coaching.
  • Service Delivery: Identify and engage appropriate service providers for each client.  Create and lead virtual service provision team to plan, coordinate, monitor and measure service delivery, results and outcomes. Demonstrate competency and confidence using theoretical frameworks and best practices effectively.
  • Crisis Intervention: Understand proper crisis intervention techniques be competent in what is necessary to keep clients and staff safe. Work with the team to ensure proper procedures and protocols are being followed. Work with mental health professionals and community partners to ensure the best service for clients.
  • Analysis, Reporting and Improvements:  Utilizing the HMIS system, track clients as well as provide reports for various funders.  Develop and circulate appropriate reports to keep all stakeholders informed of progress.  Identify and participate in research activities through data analysis and collection.  Provide feedback, factual analysis, and recommendations for continuous improvements.
  • Policy and Process Improvements:  Recommend changes to the Clinical Manager and Transitional Living Program Director that improve the quality and effectiveness of the service and support provided to the clients.
  • Flexibility:  Display the ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project needs and be visible during the hours when clients are out in the community.  Perform other duties assigned by the Clinical Manager.
  • All staff must:  Adhere to the Social Work Code of Ethics and maintain and protect client confidentiality.  Promote and demonstrate appropriate respect for cultural diversity among clients, co-workers, collaborative partners, and all work-related contacts.  Pass employment checks, drug screening, education and licensure verification, and driving record checks.  Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.  Maintain required training hours as per licensure and/or agency policies.
  • Must attend at least 2 Angel Reach events annually
  • Must attend regularly scheduled staff meetings
