HOW WE HELP
Angel Reach is a faith-based nonprofit organization that helps children and youth between the ages of 16-24 achieve their full potential in spite of the obstacles placed on them by broken families and a broken system.
Children removed by CPS from abusive home situations are routinely placed in the care of a local relative to maintain the family connection. Our goal is to help these “kinship” families by making Angel Reach goods and services available so that safe and consistent care for these children will be provided.
Angel Reach has developed a three-level housing plan with additional expectations at each level. The program is designed to foster increased independence at each level. At all levels, free counseling is provided to focus on repairing the emotional scars of abuse and neglect. As a foster youth advances through the levels, life skills classes prepare the young adults to be productive members of society. Angel Reach is a teaching program that not only addresses the basic needs of an individual but also teaches character values such as honesty, respect, self-worth, and accountability.
The Community Youth Outreach (CYO) collaborative initiative was designed to meet the needs of youth between the ages of 16-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Montgomery County, Texas. The goal is to engage, empower and support these youth to gain the skills and experience to become self-sufficient adults. The CYO is a Resource Center where the youth can come to receive basic needs services; plan their path to self-sufficiency with the help of qualified Social Workers (called youth Coaches) and be connected with the support services primarily provided by Angel Reach.
Angel Reach recruits mentors who work with young adults who have aged out of the foster care system, assisting them in the difficult transition to becoming successful and productive adults. The mentoring program’s goal is to prevent the historical consequences that have resulted when immature teenagers are released into the community without the necessary life skills, resources, and family support.
